On the second fitting of my Edwardian corset. I had to size it down an inch from the original pattern. I love that it seems to be giving me the right posture, I'm just concerned about how I'm going to get that gap in the back even...
Eep, then you had it laced too tight! If a corset is fit proper it shouldn't restrict your breathing! I still have tweaks to do on this one, but I found it rather comfortable.
Thanks! I managed to even out the gap with the last fitting, so all is well :) I used the size 00 grommets from corsetmaking.com ( http://store.corsetmaking.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CMS-GST-00K&Category_Code=GST&Product_Count=10 )
Once you get the setting kit, refill grommets are pretty cheap.
ahh, corsets not good. wore one once and i fainted. i actually fainted like ms swan in pirates of the cairribean. :)

I'd look at DharmaTrading.com, if they don't have insrtuctions on their website, you can email them and they'll be able to answer your questions :)

ReplyDeleteUneven gaps are always annoying. Question, what grommets do you use? They look so nice and neatly done.
